NiGHTS into Dreams... (1996)

An action flying game that was a Saturn exclusive for about a decade, until it was ported to the PS2 in 2008 with the option to use enhanced graphics and also the release of a HD remaster for X360 and PS3 four years later.

Plot: 'One day, Elliot Edwards and Claris Sinclair, two teenagers from the city of Twin Seeds, go through failures. Elliot, a basketball player, is challenged by a group of older students and suffers a humiliating defeat on the court. Claris, a singer, is overcome by stage fright when auditioning for judges, which causes her to lose all hopes of getting the role.

When they go to sleep that night, both Elliot and Claris suffer nightmares that replay the events. They escape into Nightopia and find that they both possess the rare Red Ideya of Courage, the only type that Wizeman cannot steal. Elliot and Claris release Nights, who tells them about dreams and Wizeman and his plans; the three begin a journey to stop Wizeman and restore peace to Nightopia.'

As for the gameplay, the objective is to go through four laps inside each of the seven worlds while collecting 20 blue chips in order to release the Ideya orb for each lap. After each lap, you're ranked based on the amount of points, normally the minimum for A rank is 25,000 points though you only need C rank to gain access to Twin Seeds, which is the last world where you fight Wizeman. Completing Twin Seeds for the first time with either kid rewards you with a standard ending, though doing the same with the second Twin Seeds run triggers an extended ending where not only the cutscenes from the standard ending are in, but also additional scenes, as well as an alternate version of the ending song which is sang by an adult duet (unlockable by getting full A ranks through the whole game).

The game also features hidden powerups which are full dash power refill, the Nightopian magnet which attracts chips to make it easier to pick them up, and the Super Paraloop power-up that enables the ability to do giant paraloops for a short period of time. I made sure to show the locations of them in each world, as well as the only secret area in the game, located in Mystic Forest.

In the longplay, I go through Claris' worlds first, then with those for Elliot. Once the Twin Seeds courses are unlocked, I complete it three times in order to get the endings which are included in this video, the extended ones can be found at the end.
