Player's Review

Pilot: Arieta
Bot: Killer Bee

Very nice Japan exclusive arcade port for Saturn. This is the type of fighting game I like. Fast paced action, responsive controls, good graphics and soundtrack. Not many special moves and combos are minimal, but that is compensated by gameplay. Special moves are relatively simple to execute so the player can focus on playing the game, instead of trying to manage delta motions while pressing buttons in correct order. Balancing is also pretty good considering the variation between different bots.

The game is lots of fun to play, even in 1P mode, until the last boss. First fights were little bit too easy, but the boss was certainly not. In every video I checked from both arcade and Saturn versions, the Warlock is not the final boss. Instead, Helion is the final boss and preceded by Warlock. For some reason I had Warlock as the final boss, not sure if it thats random, somehow determined by previous fights, character or by something else. It doesn't appear to be difficulty related. Warlock might be tougher as the final boss compared to Helion or if encountered earlier. I spent lots of time trying to figure out if I could survive his attacks at all with my selected bot. I finally figured out a tactic that seemed to be the only way to beat him. Hovering, doing quick attacks and dashing back, while using the cannon at the same time. Still a really close call and took me lots of attempts to get it right. I put a short clip just for laughs at the end, where I show what happens if you try to attack him head-on.
