Player's Review
"A superbly crafted cartoon adventure in which Dizzy finds himself trapped in the King's dungeons after being ambushed by a gang of trolls. He has to escape and rescue his girlfriend Daisy. Along the way dragons, trolls and mystical creatures will to stop him!"
Based on Fantasy World Dizzy released on 8 and 16 bit Home computer platforms. As well as a new name, the Nes game has been updated with a new look with some additional puzzles and locations with some onjects in different places that you might be used to. There are no hidden coins to worry about but instead there are 100 stars to find but there are always visible much like Fantastic Dizzy before it. As the game scrolls the gameplay is a bit faster than usual but to slow you down there are multiple enemies placed on nearly every screen to avoid.
Gameplay is as simple as walking around and traversing the platforms. Jumping over enemies as a single hit will take away a life. Find items and use them at specific points in the level. You can drop them anywhere if you want to clear pockets or leave in a safe place for later. Your first job is to get out of the castle. Then get past the dragon outside the vilage and then get the lift system working in the village in order to get the tools for the mine, for the magic shield that will be useful at the end. Also you need to get down the well for the magic bean which you will plant to reach Zak's castle in the clouds for the final battle and rescuing of daisy.
Overall, its a fine dizzy adventure thats been updated for the Nes and more palatable for a 1993 audience, if there was anyone left that is. The only really annoying part is the music as they really struggled to make the Nes sing whilst having that characteristic Codemasters sound we are familiar with from the 8 bit home computers.
