Player's Review

"NOW THE STORM HITS THE JUNGLE! - The Desert Madman is dead - now his vicious son plots a nuclear strike against the U.S.A. He's enlisted a powerful ally - a ruthless Drug Lord with an army of hi-tech mercenaries. It's YOUR mission to take them out!"

A much better conversion than the previous game but while this time, some graphics are improved to avoid dithering, it is still lacking some graphics and presentation found in the Genesis game. It's still better than the Amiga conversion as that didn't get the attention or polish that the original game did. The lower resolution of the snes can make it really annoying to line up shots with enemies not on screen yet. Like the previous game, you are stuck with the gunner you chose at the start and can't use any you rescued unless starting from one of the passwords you unlocked during play.

Interesting to note that in the snes game, you can destroy the primary building in mission 1. That means no super bonus for putting a hole in the I.R.S. In mission 5 there doesn't seem to be that one random cow to shoot at. The final mission is a test of endurance as the game intends for you to burn lives with heavy hitting enemies and only a couple of well-hidden armour pickups. Ammo pickups run dry just as you need them for the final act.

Overall, it a good conversion with slightly better but fewer gfx. Some missions play a little differently and the sound isn't too bad this time. There doesn't seem to be any slowdown this time either.
