WINTER OLYMPICS offers you the ultimate experience in sports simulations. You'll race against the best in the world... and the clock... fighting for GOLD in a game where you'll face 10 SPECTACULAR EVENTS testing your speed, strength, skill and endurance to the limit. It's your chance to go for GOLD in the WORLD'S GREATEST WINTER SPORTS SPECTACLE.

- MOGULS - You'll need tough, aggressive technique plus grace and style in the air to be a winner.
- SKI JUMPING - Not for the faint- hearted. Hurtle down the ramp - there's no turning back - and only one way down!
- BOBSLEIGH - Thrust, gravity and balance power the bobsleigh down over 1,000 metres of sheer white deadly ice.
- ALPINE EVENTS - Fast reflexes- balance-style-courage and energy, at speeds of over 80Km/h.
- BIATHLON - Mastering both cross-country skiing and marksmanship tests your stamina and accuracy to the limit.
- SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING - Blades of steel and nerves of iron turn speed and rhythm into a blur.
- LUGE - A light toboggan a track of sheet ice. Feet first into the unknown. The rest is up to you!"

The game was released on most of the current platforms of the time and the console version are notably different from their home computer counterparts but they all have the same basic design and graphic quality with minor differences due to hardware capabilities. It's interesting so see how each game differs even coming from the same group of developers. The SNES game comes in behind the Mega-Drive version due to missing elements and lower resolution.

There are ten events and these kind of games are best played in multiplayer. They don't have much depth for a single player experience but you aim is to get first place overall with the most gold medals. You do get a per event podium but no fuss is made of your achievements at the end. The longplay is being played on Olympic difficulty which requires some near impossible finishing times for gold. There is always one event more troublesome than the rest and in this game it was the ski jumping. try as I might I couldn't get the needed points for gold as the opposition scores were crazy high.

Overall, it's another good version of the game, well presented and looks nice. The controls and high precision needed to score well is the usual obstacle in these kind of games and no different here.
