Player's Review

Despite the title, this version is not a port of the PS2 game. Instead, another group of developers thought it was a good idea to create a Kay game for the DS from scratch, but removing all action combat in favor of puzzle solving. This led this version to receive negative reviews and not only because of the unfitting gameplay style for a game like this, but also because of the plot that was made shorter compared to the original.

You only have the basic controls: move with the D-Pad, B button to jump, A button does nothing, X button lets you run and the L/R triggers are used for camera moving. At the beginning I show how slow paced and boring the game is without using the run technique, not to mention some puzzles require you to be running non-stop. Inside the areas you find some coins that are just there for scoring purposes, no unlocks of any kind by collecting a specific amount.

If you have to ask me if this game is worth recommending, I am sorry to say this is not the case unfortunately. I highly suggest to play either the PS2 original or the remaster.
