Slam Tilt is probably the best of the 2D Pinball games released in the era before 3D took a hold of everything including pinball games. Four feature packed tables that look and play great. No janky ball physics and the gameplay is designed to keep you engaged and scoring without to many cheap ball loses in stark contrast to modern pinball game like Zen pinball where the ball is designed to go out of play as quickly as possible and you job is to try and stop it and just not much fun at all in it's latest incarnation which requires excessive use of nudging, something no pinball operator would let you get away with. This Windows PC version is very much like the Amiga original with the addition of a couple of cd audio tracks which play before you launch the ball.

The game features four themed tables each with a selection of high scoring modes to play as well as a secondary set where the modes must be completed before the final mode is made available. You can nudge upwards and also to the left or right which helps with some tricky shots. Some modes make use of the video screen up top and you need to use the flippers to control the gameplay up there. There is also a lot of multiball action and it can be challenging to keep them all in play.

The longplay is a bit longer than I would have liked with nothing going my way on this playthrough. I know where I need to hit to get modes enabled but the ball just isn't going where I need it. Still I play through all four tables and aim to show all modes before losing remaining balls.

Overall I fantastic pinball game on both the Amiga and windows and if you are ever to only one pinball game for the classic machines, it should be this one.
