"The AeroFighters Assault team needs your help to save the Earth from the evil Phutta Morgana and their machines of doom. Join the battle in the only game that matters!"

An arcade faction flight sim that sends you out on various missions to stop the end of the world. The game starts out by offering you the choice of flying machine, each with its own abilities and weaknesses. Whichever you choose, you will fly until you lose lives and don't continue. The game will remember the level you got to as long as you don't hit start new game. Choosing a level will allow to take a different craft. The remaining craft will serve as your wingmen. Once in game, you soul objective is to destroy the boss be that a building or vehicle. Every thing else is just points or a distraction. At the end of each level your score is tallied against health remaining, defence and special ability remaining and how much time is left. Getting a hundred percent in each rewards a star, yay.. So just fly around, shoot stuff, and win!

But this isn't 'Ace Combat' and probably not even Sky Target. The game has 11 levels and four of those are bonus levels if you meet some unspecified requirements so without a guide, I would have no clue. One of the level requirements is a fiendish time trial requiring you to clear preceding levels fast. This isn't helped by the Bosses being bullet sponges and huge damage dealers and did I mention the strict hidden time requirement. Each craft has a weakness and the Tomcat I'm flying manoeuvres well enough but the firepower is weak but hay, it has homing missiles! Just pray the enemy can be locked onto else you will just fire a single dumb missile which takes the same amount of time to charge as four homing missiles.

Attacking the stealth fighter was painful enough with the game framerate crumbling to single digits while I'm trying to line up a shot. Attacking the fortress was a nightmare as you are constantly under fire and can only deal a miniscule amount of damage on each pass. If I would have ignored the fighters, just maybe I would have destroyed it before the time ran out and the fortress opening fire. But I was trying to save the wingmen in order for them to help me with the boss, but they jst self destructed when I needed them most. Although its fair to say the wingmen are mostly useless as they wont attack anything to help you out except just maybe distracting the enemy fighter pilots.

If the game was like ace combat, id have taken whichever plane was best fit in my mind for the mission but I didn't want to quit to the menu here between missions to select a new plane, I wanted to keep with what I chose at the start but it's like the game is mocking me for trying to keep going with a weak ass plane, not that I know if the others are any better. The fortress was almost a show stopper as I was getting frustrated with it and taking an afternoon just to record one level. After the fortress, the game gets a little more manageable

As mentioned before, the game has eleven levels, four of which are bonus levels. Completing them all will unlock 'Spanky' a flying dolphin in the X29 ..yeah. I'll list the requirements for each level as I understand them.

Bonus 1 - Air Docking. Get a high score on both Tokyo and pacific Ocean levels. Destroying the four enemy planes and boss should be enough.
Bonus 2 - Shuttle Defence Complete preceding levels including bonus within an unspecified time limit. If you reach Desert at sunset, you wont get this mission. Just concentrate on what you need to kill and avoid distractions.
Bonus 3 - Goliath defence. Complete all preceding missing including bonus up to this point.
Bonus 4 - The Moon. Again Just complete all preceding missions including bonus up to this point. Just ..

After completing the game, I show the use of the other aircraft in boss attack mode. In some ways they were a little easier than with the F14 but I think I should have taken that dolphin against the stealth as it has a powerful special attack. That said the Ninja Beam on the craft I flew wasn't bad but getting the right attack angle was frustrating due to be ripped to shreds the moment I get close enough to lock onto the enemy weapons. Following the boss attacks I reset the game and enable cheats to show the remaining aircraft. I don't know if there is a method to unlock it legitimately. The Ninja Beam would have come in very handy on the F14 during the initial play.
