Player's Review

It is interesting to note that the cd covers for this game are the most plain I've ever seen for a ps1 game. There is no game description what so ever or screenshots and looks more like an LP in presentation. It is the third game in the Sena Kart Duel series and interestingly only for the Japanese region this time.

The game doesnt look to bad for its age but also nothing special. It plays like a driving game from the early PlayStation days where you cant get near the curbs and clip the corners and trying just results in stopping you dead. The game is quite challenging and gets very difficult as you progress. It plays quite fast and there isn't much room for error as the opponents are never far away waiting for their moment.

The longplay shows Grand Prix mode which consist of seven races over three classes. The game really doesnt make it clear that you need to play the GP multiple times, in this case three times. The first GP is quite difficult in that the available karts are quite annoying to control. You can mess with the handling characteristics but the changes can be quite subtle. Finishing the GP will and in a duel and winning it unlocks that Kart. The second GP is more fun to play through. With the new kart, you get speed and much, much better handling and no need to worry about sliding. Reaching the Duel sees you facing off against Ayrton Senna and winning it results in unlocking his kart. The third GP is insane and now you have Senna kart in order to keep up. Senna is now race leader and using his kart you have great speed and great breaks which you should use as letting off the gas will result in a slide. Finishing this GP results in Extra Class consisting of two duel where you will face one of the two special kart drivers in each. If you fail to win you can keep replaying this Extra Class. Winning results in the same ending as usual and I can tell if anything has been unlocked. I little underwhelming really.

At the end of the video, I show the Ayrton Senna memorial mode mode which consists of two videos and photos.
