Player's Review
[GIANT ROBOT!] platformer by NCS, ported by X-Naut. Something like that.
Follow Jake as he pilots a big bot during a war. I think it's something about fuel?
Gameplay is like the original: navigate a stage and blow up enemies with weapons! You have a Vulcan, a punch, some missiles, and a beam. Find power-up chips to level up your weapons! You also have a hover, a dash, and a shield. This game is also WAY more difficult than the original: some enemies do a bit too much damage (stage 2 boss throws fast rocks if you camp below it. It's pretty much a Game Over if you get hit by it), the "bonus" section on Stage 4 is not really a bonus section (can't destroy soldiers unless i'm not trying hard enough), rocket boss mooks don't drop power-up chips (rip Level 3 Laser), and aim lock button can be iffy at times (or I'm crazy). I'm also convinced you can't get the upgradeable Napalm and the punch weapon was nerfed. Laser is still busted, though.
