Player's Review
flower, by That game company, is basically a slightly interactive fireplace-movie. You know, one of those that are just a crackling fire you're supposed to run on the TV in the background, to make that "homey" feeling of having an open fire in the livingroom.
Well, in flower, nothing burns (there is some electricity), but it still has that zen-feeling of not really being a game. You start with a single petal from a flower and fly around the country, making other flowers bloom so you get more petals. That's it. There is some kind of backstory about how the city has become grey and dull, but it's all about flowers in the end.
There are some "secrets" in that there are three patches of flowers in each level that are special and some of them only appear when other conditions are met. I did get some of those, but in the end, that's not really what the game is about, so towards the end I just got whichever ones I stumbled across. Keeping the feeling of the longplay consistent with the feeling of the game. (Well, that's my excuse anyway.)
There are Matroska-chapters embedded in both files, so if you have a player that can show them, it is easy to jump to different parts of the movie.
Like the game says in the dashboard;
Tilt the controller to soar
Press any button to blow wind
Relay, enjoy
