Player's Review

This is the longplay of the game Onimusha Tactics, strategic RPG game released exclusively for Game Boy Advance in 2003. This is the first game in the Onimusha series to be released for a Nintendo console, although it is considered a Spin-Off of the series. However, the game features a similar plot: a samurai who possesses the Oni Gauntlet can become the Onimusha and fights against Nobunaga and his army of genma.

The game's protagonist is the warrior Onimaru, a warrior from the Iga village. Both he and his sister, Oboro, possess the blood of the Oni due to their mother's Oni heritage. His parents died when he and sister were still childrens. Right before her death, Onimaru's mother brought both he and his sister along with an Oni gauntlet to Iga village. She was found by legendary Iga warrior, Sandayu Momochi and with her dying breath, told him that she was a descendant of the Oni Clan. Sandayu then raised and trained Onimaru and his sister in the ways of the Iga art.

Nobunaga intends to take over the world, so the warrior Onimaru is chosen to use the Oni Gauntlet, a magic glove that, in addition to increasing his powers, also grants the ability to suck the souls of defeated enemies and transform them into weapons and items. Onimaru and Oboro need to travel through Ancient Japan and recruit several warriors, each with their martial art and motivations: some use katana swords, others use bows and arrows, others use spears, there are ninjas who can attack from near and far, there are those who use healing magic and even shotguns and firearms.
Several secrets are revealed as the player progresses through the game and several characters relate to each other between chapters. In fact, a half-human, half-gemma character called Ageha also stands out a lot in this game.

Onimusha Tactics is a turn-based strategy game, in the same style as Final Fantasy Tactics. It is a good game, but quite linear. In order to level up, the player can defeat enemies and "withdraw" and repeat the chapter, which helps a lot to evolve the characters. Gemma Stones can be used to create items and Spirits are to evolve characters' weapons and armor. This video is 100%, with all the characters evolved (including Onniko, available after completing all floors of the Phantom Realm). Using healing spells is also great for leveling up. It is a very simple game, but also very long, like any good RPG. I hope you enjoy the video.
