CT Special Forces

Some sort of a Metal Slug clone that features generic characters loosely based on the Counter-Strike series. The game was also released on the PS1, and spawned two sequels along with a 3D spin-off on PS2 and Xbox.

The game starts off with a basic plot about terrorists invading and attacking humanity, and the player has to go through a series of missions in various areas to destroy the deadly weapons and capture the villains behind their creations. There are a few weapons that help the soldier on his way through, like the flamethrower, assault rifle, grenades and the rocket launcher, but unfortunately there is no close combat attack with knives. As the game progresses, enemy soldiers get a bump in HP that can make your spare ammo supply to run out if you try to kill all of them. That is where strategy and good usage of your ammo may help.

Upon completion, you get one of four passwords in order to play as one of the regular enemy soldiers, while retaining the plot text and also weapons. For those who are wondering, challenge mode is a co-op mode where a second player can join the action via GBA link.
