"WINTER OLYMPICS offers you the ultimate experience in sports simulations. It's your chance to go for GOLD in the WORLD'S GREATEST WINTER SPORTS SPECTACLE."

This might be Tiertex's greatest work. That's not to say it's a great game but it is well presented looking great overall on every system it landed on. As usual, these type of games are best played in multiplayer but for this longplay it's just be against some very aggressive times to beat on Olympic difficulty mode. There's not a lot of fun to be had here as you have to be pretty much perfect in every aspect with absolutely no room for error in order to beat the times and the controls can make that quite challenging in it self.

There are ten events to play through, some are played twice. The longplay goes through each of them and I try to put a good effort into each to get gold but there are a couple of events that ask to much. The game is different to the Master System version and in some ways even more difficult. Moguls again gave me issues as I couldn't get a double trick out which didn't help my score. Bobsled and Luge had an insane time requirement and I just couldn't quite get there as well as a real lack of control vs other version which tries to force me in to the opposite wall when coming out of a tight turn. . I don't know what happened with the ski jump, some mechanic I'm missing (couldn't find a manual for this version) leaving crazy low scores leaving me wondering if it's a bug. The other events I manage gold but it took more than a few goes to get there. The longplay is being played on Olympic difficulty but lower modes don't seem to make a huge difference with only 2-3 seconds difference although there really is no reason to play on anything other than the easiest difficulty.

Overall, its an alright game which is well made but its not going to keep you entertained very long as a single player experience. The small screen and high precision gameplay requirement would make this feel a lot less than fun to play. It is interesting how all the different versions across systems are mostly the same yet differ in some way in control and on screen assistance. This is also the only version where you cant enter your name and have to choose from four selectable players. It's good that the medal winners are well spread out and it's not just one cpu player winning them all.
