"Brilliant 3D action in this amazing futuristic simulation. The OLIVER TWINS have done it again but this time in 3D!!!"
The Oliver Twins are trying something new after platform adventures and top town racing. A space adventure that has you blasting aliens as you traverse space visiting the different fleets in the many systems you can venture too. The Gameplay loop is quite basic and probably why it is a budget game. You choose a system but before you can jump to light speed, you have to clear the enemies in your way. Once you have travelled to the next system you have to fight your way to the dicking bay. This is done by keeping your targeting reticule over it and when it gets close enough you will be pulled in with a tractor beam. Rince and repeat.
Actually there is more to the game than that. There is a mission tree and specific order you should visit. The manual tells you to start at Belmar. Once there you will be given a mission and told where to go next. After that I guess you fly around until you find the next mission and that can make it seem like you have done everything and boredom setts in. For the video I know in advance where to go so no wasted journeys. There are a few different alien types and you should shoot them before they fire at you. each different colour is a different enemy and takes differing amount of shots to kill and actually hitting them is a chore. Some times they can come in close for a suicide attack and this is where strategic use of the shield comes in.
Overall, its an alright space shooter but because the aliens are mostly the same as you travel between each system and coupled with the frustration of actually hitting anything, you can lose interest in the game rather quickly. At the end of the video I show the only system we didn't visit as well as what happens if you go back to the flerin system.
