Player's Review

[TOTALLY-NOT-CASTLEVANIA!] Platformer by Inti Creates. Part of a Kickstarter stretch goal for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Set before the events of Ritual of the Night, follow Zangetsu as he beefs with many critters to rid of the world of evil. We also have other folks, like a whip lady, not-Sypha, and not-Alucard.

Game plays like a Castlevania game, complete with graphical style, similar color palette, and shitty game mechanics, like committed jumps and enemies hanging over pits to knock you INTO pits. There is a casual mode to make the game less infuriating, like not getting knocked back after taking damage, but what's the fun in that? =P You also get party members, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

This longplay spams character swap to get all endings...or something. First playthrough is Bad Ending conditions (kill all heroes), which gives Zangetsu abilities (a better aerial attack, a double jump, and a dash). On this playthrough, the other endings are shown (Kill one-ignore one-don't recruit, 3 character endings, don't kill but don't recruit). I also take the scenic route since the game says so! Second playthrough is recruit all heroes, which leads to the third playthrough of Nightmare mode, which is pretty much Hard mode and True Ending. Ultimate mode isn't played since it is just Nightmare mode with a powered-up Zangetsu.

I ALSO just figured out how to get through Stage 6 boss desperation attack. =_=
