Player's Review
"Clean up the crime-ridden Manhattan docks. Fight off thugs wielding flick-knives, iron bars, baseball bats and worse! Tackle muggers, homicidal maniacs, and psychopaths."
The game is quite short but extremely challenging to drag out the pain that may just be the worst brawler on the Amiga or any home platform. There are five levels with the fifth just being a short final fight. You get five lives and very likely to need them although you can earn more. You have an energy bar that drops quickly when under attack but can be recharged by standing still with no opponents around. But don't hand about to long as there is a time limit to finish in if you want an end of level score bonus.
Gameplay requires you to run to the right. There will be enemies in your way which need to be dealt with by punching and kicking and some good timing as they will be trying to kill you. To add to the pressure you will have enemies hunting you from the left and if both sides get close it can be near impossible to fight them off, depending on the specific enemy. From the left, you face being stabbed with a screwdriver or cut up by a chainsaw. from the right you can be stabbed or punched to death. In some areas a fork lift will chase you and if you cant make it to a safe area you will be skewered.
Overall this is a terrible game. The controls are terrible with what seems like a huge amount of input lag and the game demands you deal with enemies quickly or it will pile them on. It also looks terrible as an Amiga game seemingly just being a colourised version of the Spectrum game and what's with that title music which sounds like it stole some samples from an MT32. Even as a budget game, this cost too much.
