Player's Review

"After an epic struggle of good against evil, the Demon King sought refuge far away in time; where his magic was forgotten, and where he could lick his wounds and recover his powers. Yet he had not counted on the will of a young Samurai warrior. He followed the Demon into 24th century Japan, to ancient Japan and finally, confronted the Demon in his mountain throne where the King Was prepared to try anything to defeat him."

Sequel to the First Samurai featuring the same sword swinging action and wacky sound effects but with more grounded levels and no mazes (thankfully) to explore. There is not much in the way of puzzles either but there will be plenty of boss type battles and hidden areas to find.

This is a longplay of the Amiga 1200 (AGA) version of the game. To differentiate from the Amiga 500 Longplay I play as Player 2. This version is mostly the same with the most notable difference being more detailed backgrounds. At the bottom of the screen is an experience bar which you are supposed to fill on each level but it has some oddities where it appears you didn't get enough or you collected far more than fits on the scale. The idea is to collect as much as possible and fill the global experience bar completely in order to unlock the full ending.

Overall, this was a great Amiga platform/action game but it maybe didn't age to well. Once you get to the future levels, something about the game quality starts to drop off, like the artists or developers ran out of steam. I played the cover disk demo over and over back then as the opening level might be the best in the game. I bought the game not long after and I don't regret it.
