1200 ENHANCEMENTS INCLUDE:
Extra action Mayhem mode, more sprites on screen, more samples and effects, more graphic detail and a faster Manta."

Sequel to the original 8-Bit game Uridium. The game will work on any Amiga from the A500 upto the A4000 and primarily an A500 game but takes advantage of extra resources when played on an A1200. Mayhem mode has been made available and enabled for this longplay.

I first encountered this game from an Amiga coverdisc and played it to death until finding the boxed game a few years later. For some reason I was never able to find in my local game sellers at the time. I was already very familiar with the original Spectrum and C64 games and the Amiga sequal is a massive upgraed in every area. It takes a while to load but everything about it screams quality. Great graphics, snd effects, high speed movement, frantic gameplay and the ever annoying homing bomb and walls. Who builds walls on a star ship!

The longplay starts out player plus droid mode. I was hoping to see if the droid appeared in the ending but it wasn't to be. However taking the droid can help you by sacrificing it self for you to take a shot and if you do get hit, you automatically take over the droid. Easy Mode? maybe, but by the time you get to fleet five, you'll be crying out for it. Gameplay involved flying across each dreadnaught taking out its many weapons and defence forces. Only when you have built up a predetermined amount of points will you get the call to land and destroy the core. I'm not sure but there might be a huge time limit that may allow you to land when it runs out, but you'll have to survive a long while. Some enemies drop a special item that reduces the destruction point counter and collecting it even more so, but you have to be really quick. On later levels these can be hard to find and you will need bombs to destroy specific parts of the ship to reveal the special collectables. It can be a real pain if you have the wrong weapon and the right enemies are not appearing. Destroying enemy fighter waves usually drops a weapon but the wing leader will drop the special.

Overall a fantastic game on the Amiga. The dreadnaught designs are constantly changing to keep each level feeling fresh. Sometimes the landing site is well hidden and you need to waive in and out of the walled areas to find it. Another thing the game does is save which fleet you reached so you can start a new game from any of the six fleets you have reached. I left a few deaths in the game to show how mean the game can be.
