Player's Review

"Nobody is quite sure where the aliens came from, but the have ransacked our galaxy and left a trail of destruction through five colony structures. All communication with Earth has been cut, we have no way of warning them. Your mission is to take remote control of a Cyberwing Mk. 3 mid-range fighter and navigate through the five colonies to get a message through, taking out as many enemy fighters as you can on your way."

I'm not entirely sure of the history of this game. Previous of the game have been floating about since 1995 with an official release on the covermount of Commodoer Zone 13. The 2004 release of the game game is directly from the Cosine website.

The game is a vertical shootemup and contained in a single load featuring five levels. Because it is at least 1995 when the game was produced, the game features an end screen! The game has a very balanced difficulty level. Waves appear in very predictive patterns and the next wave wont usually appear until the previous is destroyed or flies away. This can be used to your advantage by leaving a single enemy on screen for as long as possible. It's gets tricky around level 2 when you have to move left and right through laser beams and cracks in the walls.

Overall a fun and playable shootemup on the C64 with some great music and nice detailed gfx and not too difficult. Lives can be gained during play and there are the five smart bombs for those moments of panic which unfortunately don't replenish even when using a life. Once the game is completed I show a single level with SFX enabled.
