Player's Review

"The year is 2064. The universe needs a hero and it looks like it's you! The anonymous dark forces are building, slowly growing in size and strength. In the heart of their homeworld, they have constructed a stellar accelerator capable of wiping out whole planets. Your mission is to infiltrate, sabotage and escape. Infiltration proved easy; you allowed yourself to be captured and took it from there. Sabotage was going well until you triggered the alarms on the way out! Now you are on your own, in a small but manoeuvrable Warflame series fighter. Only it stands between you and oblivion. Good luck Commander, you're going to need it!

This is the 2006 remix of our shoot 'em up Warflame, which was converted to cross assembly and revised for release through Cronosoft. There have been cosmetic changes such as the altered colours for the backgrounds and an update of the loading picture to add more detail, but the most important change is a recoding of the collision detection which makes the game more generous and therefore easier to play overall."

I'm not sure where this fits in the timeline before or after Cyberwing but it is an overall much simpler game. A simple horizontal scrolling shootemup through 15 levels of destroying waves of bad guys and avoiding laser fences. You get plenty of lives and the difficulty is very well balanced overall. The enemies don't shoot at you so its pretty much a case of shoot or avoid them. Some levels will require some daring manoeuvring to get through some maze like sections but not difficult overall.

Overall a nice little game that puts some actual budget releases to shame. Some great graphics and music which could have done with being a little longer before they loop.
