Player's Review

"The ULTIMATE TEST OF DEXTERITY ... tilt the whole screen to manoeuvre the steel ball. An AMAZING INGENIOUS GAME."

A £2.99 budget release. The game starts of interesting. You need to complete four tables to finish a level. In each table you need to tilt the table using all 8 directions and guide the ball around to the hole at the end of the maze. There are doors that need to be triggered to let the ball through. Just make sure you get through before it closes else you get squished!

There are 10 levels to complete. Each level gets progressively more challenging by adding traps that you need to move the ball slowly over. Oh and you are not allowed to make contact with the walls just in case you were thinking the game was gonna be too easy. Should you get caught the ball rolls back to the start, but it will remove any doors and traps you made it past as well as removing the score multiplier.

Once 5 levels have been completed revealing all traps, level 6 onwards will have the ball grow. This adds a huge amount of challenge as you have much less room to manoeuvre. By the time you hit level 10, the game is by all accounts impossible and I'm only able to show it here thanks to emulation and save states. However there seems to be a trend in these simpler games in that they are endless with no kind of end screen making the game feel less than rewarding for your effort. I guess it's all about the score then. It lets you move onto level 11, but its just a repeat of 10 without additional ball growth.

Overall, this is a nice game at a budget price. The overall presentation is great with the believable 3D effect and the nice touch of the rollers taking you to the next board. The sfx is nicely done to. Gameplay wise, once you have finished the four tables once then that's probably enough, but if you made it through to at least level six, then you have done really well and got your 2.99 worth of enjoyment at least.
