Player's Review

"Betrayed by his people TRANTOR is abandoned alone on an alien planet. His only chance of escape is to activate the planet's main computer that lies within the terminal building. Spectacular sound and graphics transport you light years to the future. Armed only with a flame thrower, fight your way to freedom as TRANTOR ... THE LAST STORMTROOPER."

The C64 game looks a bit basic and a lot less frantic than the Spectrum version of the game I previously played. That does make it a little easier to play but the game is still by no means easy thanks to a tight time limit that keeps you moving and very few energy pic ups. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I think the Spectrum game was a bit more mazy requiring going up and down different levels.

There are eight levels each with a terminal that gives a letter and container with an item. To get 100% completion you need to collect both on each of the eight levels. On each level you can go either left or right as it loops around and on six of the levels their will be two lifts, one going up and one going down. Level five contains a password terminal. You need to find the Passkey item and return here once you have all eight letters. The eight letters are an anagram and will form a password. The password will have something to do with Spectrum hardware. Once the password is entered, you will be given a code for the transporter terminal on level eight. Do this and win!

The enemy droid things can be annoying as they are not always easy to hit and drain you energy. There are two energy refill items to find. Time is added each time you collect a letter and each level has a fuel store to recharge your flamethrower.
