Player's Review

"During the latter part of the Twentieth Century the FIS Eagle (nicknamed STEEL EAGLE) established itself as the most versatile aircraft throughout the world. Now in the second half of the 21st Century, Earth is being threatened by evil an alien invasion force, whose sole objective is to enslave the whole of mankind. You are a pilot in the elite Eagle Strike Force. It is your mission to destroy this invasion force and SAVE THE WORLD."

A Budget priced shoot em up that's looks nice and all but an there's an element of gameplay that's a little annoying. Destroying enemies awards points and sometimes they drop powerups, which is normal. However the powerups can be destroyed and it is so easy to do as you fire multiple shots to destroy armoured enemies. They drop seemingly at random so you cant easily prepare for them. Also, and weapon upgrades are lost when killed.

Apart from a slight gfx bug causing part of the sprite to appear in the border, it's overall not bad but the challenge is definitely there on later levels with very narrow corridors and laser walls. The collision detection is a little broken where the hit boss is offset from the sprite, probably related to the gfx bug. The game is seemingly endless and loops after 3 levels.
