Player's Review
"Everyone knows that castles are for haunting but that old rascal Ghostbuster Red Laird McTavish cleared Drumtrochie Castle of all the Ghosties exactly one century ago. Now Blinky, the star pupil from the Scary School for young ghosts has from sunset to sunrise to penetrate the castle Ghost proof defences. Guide him through the cunning traps, help him evade the nasties with the help of the spirit potions he has brewed himself. Awaken evil Hamish McTavish, the present Laird and condemn him to a lifetime of haunting."
A budget cartoon adventure aimed at a younger audience. Not to much to say about this one. It is a fairly short item collecting adventure once you have the solution where you need to take the right item to the right place. It's not without challenge though as the enemies can be quite annoying to evade and will take energy from you. Fortunately you have a number of lives at hand but you cant collect anymore. The controls can be annoying especially when trying to jump platforms and has you backing up a bit to jump from just the right place.
Overall, the C64 conversion resembles the Amiga game and recognisable enough and the solution is the same. Apart from the title music you only get some basic sfx in game. There are plenty of red herring items that do nothing but helpful for rotating items in your list as there is no drop button. The solution is a bit different in the Spectrum have which has a higher looking resolution overall.
