Player's Review

AMAZING REALISM - the burms, bumps and ramps really work- seven different courses, each one harder. Two player option and fantastic ACTION REPLAY option with SLO-MO- all make this the best BMX game yet!"

A 1.99 budget title and I believe the first of the Simulator series for Codemasters and the original version the other versions are based off of. Thje Darlings previously produced BMX Racers for Mastertronic, a woefully basic looking and playing game.

BMX Simulator offers 2 players or single vs the cpu seven courses to race on. Each race is barely a minute long making the game look deceptively short as thegame is overly and frustratingly challenging as you race within a time limit and especially when against a ruthless cpu player. Lose a race and it's game over.

As soon as the green flag drops hit the accelerator, a good start really counts. Avoid colliding with the opponent or scenery as that will bring you off the bike and have you facing the wrong way costing valuable time. The bikes can feel quite heavy forcing you to either slow down to take corners or get the speed right on the hills to help you around the corners. Not too fast else it will fling you off the hill.

Overall, the game is quite basic but offers some fun in 2 player. Against the cpu , not so much and ends in you wanting to chuck the game out of the window. There's no real ending either to congratulate you for your effort.
