Player's Review
"ACTION PACKED ARCADE FUN! Destroy super- tanks, turbo choppers, gun emplacements. Blast snipers, crack paratroopers, jet-packers and more in this incredible Super Spying bonanza!"
The game is deceptively short when everything goes right but it is quite challenging with all the on screen enemies shooting at you. There are four standard levels which require you to pick up all scientists and take them to the safehouse to end the level. The arrows at the bottom of the screen direct you to the next scientist but you may meet some fake ones on the way. You will know they are fake as the arrows wont change as you fly over them. Feel free to blast em but be sure not to kill a legit scientist as that will result in your death.
After completing level four, you will receive score for all remaining lives and start level five with no additional lives. You get one shot at at it and its can be quite long as you need to fly to each safehouse and pickup the scientists and fly home. fortunately you only need to fly to the left, deal with enemies in the normal way and no worries about killing scientists.
Along the way there are items you can pick up. The important one is fuel which you need to keep topped up and it is lost by taking enemy fire. A power pill or hand can double your weapon power and there is a roller ball to smash anything on the ground. A bouncing bomb doesnt seem to do a whole lot. Some care needs to be taken when landing to pick up scientists or weapons as it is all too easy to smash into the ground as the controls can feel a little floaty.
Overall, this is an alright game considering its 2.99 budget price. There are some gfx issues in the C64 game but nothing game breaking.
