Player's Review
"Run round the castle to rebuild your Dad. Find his parts and plug in 1000,000 Volts to revive him! Find the right keys - for the right doors to get around the castle. Just walk into open doorways. But watch out for the Ghosts and Ghouls! Objects and keys are displayed at the bottom of the screen. If your energy runs out, you will have a CARDIAC ARREST!!"
A budget friendly cartoon adventure aimed at a younger audience yet frustrating enough to put off any player. You control Frankenstein Jnr and you quest is to seek out keys to unlock all the doors in the castle. The castle is big and because both sides are mirrored it can be difficult to memorise the layout and work out where you are in the grans sceme of things especially when there are a couple of rooms that differ depending on you enetering leaving and entering again for a different perspective.
A secondary quest has you looking for body parts to rebuild Frankenstein's monster. Some parts can be found in multiple locations but the heart is always in the same place at the top of the tower (or is it the cellar below the basement. :S Some other needed items are spread about to find to aid in your quest but not you can only carry one key at a time so you will need to swap them out to open different doors.
Whilst you have all this going on, you will be chased by ghosts and skeletons that will cause your heart rate to shoot up. You can either outrun them or try to bash them if you have the axe. If you are so scared your heart explodes, it's game over. As an added frustration, you have limited energy that is constantly counting down. You will need to visit one of the green flask rooms in order to refill the flask.
Overall, this is not a game I ever enjoyed playing. I never felt like I was getting anywhere as its all too easy to get lost in the castle once doors are open and being constantly chased by enemies and needing to constantly refill energy was just to annoying to put any time into the game.
