Player's Review
"WIZARD WILLY is the last hope for FIFI the Fairy, trapped in the Emperor's huge fortress! CLIMB and JUMP through the enchanted forest, enter the dungeons, climb the castle, and get out onto the battlements. You must collect ALL 10 of the MAGIC EYES, before you confront the GUARDIAN SKULL at the end of each level. If you can beat him, you proceed onto the next level. Exploding TRAPS have been planted by the Emperor, you must jump over these or LOSE A LIFE!"
A simple platformer consisting of four levels. In each level you need to collect all the magic eyes in order to reveal the end of level boss. Along with way you can pickup health, extra shots (Spellfire), invinsability, extra speed and whatever B item does. Vanish is a use once smartbomb to clear the screen. The boss can be quite challenging it fires fast and can be not so easy to dodge. fortunately it doesnt take too many hits to kill.
Overall, its a fairly quick, not to difficult platform game with C64 chunky gfx. Looking quite different to the Spectrum original. Difficulty is mainly down to the controls. when jumping platforms you can kind of be thrown forward like a double jump and it's quite jarring when it happens and can cost you a life if you overshoot into a mine. Enemies can ware you done so its a good idea to just keep blasting and hope they are hit when they appear on screen.
