"DIRT BIKING FUN AT IT'S BEST!!! Wheelies, dune jumping, wheel spinning in the mud, sand, ice! FLY off a jump-THUMP! Give it some stick- POWERSLIDE thru bends JUMP logs, streams, off drops, 3D view and helicopter view - INCREDIBLE FUN!!!"
Motocross comes across to me as a sequel to BMX Freestyle being so similar. The BMX Bike is bike pretending to be a dirt bike. This time we are using a fullscreen and have to perform wellies and jumps to avoid obstacles in the terrain on fairly short courses. Thegame alternates between side on and top down events. The top down is a time trial where you need to move at speed, steer around rocks and hit the right jumps.
BMX Freestyle was a difficult and infuriating game where a single loss is an instant game over. In MotoX, you get lives and earn another for each successful completion of an event so you are more likely to make it through this one. In both stage types the biggest challenge is fighting the collision detection as it will calim you collided even with a sizable gap between you and the obstacle. In the time trial, you also need pixel precision to make it through some gaps but thankfully don't count as a collision if moving sloly as you just bounce backwards.
Overall, a better budget game than the mentioned bmx game that might hold your attention for five minutes. I think it's more likely you would only load this up for the awesome title tune by Matt Gray though.
