Player's Review

"Race at over 200 mph in a TURBO CHARGED, FUEL INJECTED, MULTI VALVED, HOT ROD! Blow your adversaries away with laser guided missiles and oil slicker!"

A budget battle cars racing game, it's got to be good. With only four levels there's not much to it but there is plenty of challenge to face getting through them. Each level has a time limit that you must finish in to continue to the next stage. Armed with missiles and oil slicks you can take out other cars for points. The game loops after level four but no extra challenge is added with the same time limit. You do take damage from car collisions but as long as you are moving you are not likely to receive much and if you really need to, you can pull into the pits for repair. Outright crashes into the scenery will cost a life.

Speed is governed how far you are into the screen although you don't really need to be any further up than half way giving you time to see oncoming obstacles. Time isn't too strict so your can take your time and should make it if not crashing too much. Levels three and four have quite a few car jump points and some are not good for you so a little memorisation is needed for the best route.

Overall, this is a nicely presented little racing game. Not a whole lot going on gameplay wise but it looks nice enough with a nice tune by Alistair Brimble throughout with no option for sfx. I'd have liked some kind of tournament ending instead of the game looping.
