Player's Review
"This has got to be the best ever snooker simulator! It follows exactly the rules of the world famous table top game. All the balls, all the playability- ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!"
Not much to say about this one. Quite a basic simulation of snooker as you don't have much control over shot power and the sfx are incredibly limited so not much in the way of immersion. I think Steve Davis Snooker is a batter game but doesnt look as nice.
The game opens with music on the title screen but that is we are getting. You can then choose to play in practice mode by yourself or go right into the normal game which is for two players only which I find a rather glaring omission with no cpu player. Aiming is don't my holding Q to spin the cue around and then W and E to fine tune the aim left and right. Then Space to shoot. Player two gets the Enter key to shoot, don't get them mixed up! Spin can be added with the I, J, K and M keys. Number keys select the ball colour when appropriate. The game records how many times each player has run with no upper limit.
Overall, I find it a bit to basic looking to fun and not very engaging. a little in game speech might have been nice. and lack of player vs cpu makes this unlikely to be played often if at all. The longplay first shows me playing a single game as both players trying to show aiming and ball spin. The demo mode then follows looking like its being played by someone that knows twhat theyare doing but you don't get to see setting up the shots.
