Player's Review

[NOT CASTLEVANIA-LIKE!] Platformer by Inti Creates.

Follow Zangetsu as he beefs with everything and the goddamn moon. There be not-Belmont, not-Sypha, and not-Alucard.

The game plays like an old school Castlevania, mainly III. You have character swaps, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and all the shitty mechanics that make Castlevania what it, like goddamn bats over pits, not-Fleaman frogs, and a dedicated jump that may be full of regrets and get knocked into a pit. Thankfully, you can put the game in Casual mode to reduce difficulty (like no knockbacks), but that's no fun.

This longplay, unlike the 3DS one, is more complete. Playthroughs are: Zangetsu Solo (no kills), Zangetsu Solo (all kills/Bad Ending), typical playthrough (recruit all/Normal Ending), Nightmare Mode (Hard Mode/True Ending), Ultimate Mode (Nightmare Mode with powered up Zangetsu), 2 Boss Rush. There are plenty of deaths. For Ultimate Mode, I was trying to go for "That Man Zangetsu", but I fumbled and recruited. I then came to a conclusion to just go with it because it would be yet ANOTHER solo playthrough. Ultimate Mode playthrough also has character endings, including the combinations even though the text is the same. Nightmare Mode has inconsistency because I JUST realized how to show one passage AND get the Life Up. For 2 Boss Rush: first boss rush is Normal Mode. Second Boss Rush is Nightmare Mode difficulty. Since I didn't want any of Gremory's big fireball shit (almost impossible to dodge unless you use Zangetsu Dash), I used Ultimate Zangetsu to push before it.
