Mortal Kombat (2011)

Player's Review
The storyline chronicles a retelling of the first three MK stories, keeping with the retro vibe. The narrative is cheesy, and filled with facepalm worthy lines that feel like they were taken straight from an 80's kung fu movie. That is just fine, for this is Mortal Kombat, and it wouldn't be Mortal Kombat without a little cheese on top. Boss characters such as Goro, Kintaro and Shao Khan are also making a comeback. Like in the old games, you cannot play as them, and they do not fight fair. Their attacks deal massive damage, and they take very little themselves. This may frustrate some players, but it works exactly the way it should. They were trying to capture the essence of the first three games, and that would be hard to do without unfair, frustrating bosses.
