Player's Review

"Evil Austen Von Flyswatter has stolen the largest set of diamonds ever. Ousted from retirement caped Crusader Captain Dynamo hurtles into action. rescue the Diamonds, dodge booby traps and save the world!"

The 16 and 8 bit versions of this game are quite different but objectively the same. The c64 version differs again from the Spectrum/Amstrad version. The idea of the game is to move upwards through 6 Cavens, dodging all the obstacles and enemies in your way to reach the final teleporter whilst at the same time collecting as many diamonds as possible.

The C64 game seems like it was developed by watching the other versions being played and then copying them as much as possible into this version rather than having source material to convert. The game is very difficult and requires some precision jumping and movement timing. Enemies cannot be killed by jumping on them here and there are also no secret areas to find for more diamonds. I dont think there is the ability to crouch either. At least not low enough to avoid anything.

The overall presentation is sloppy as well with same music on title screen and game, no high score screen and no end screen. Not bad for a 3.99 budget game but again, its better it's done better on all other platforms.
