"GET READY TO SHOOT AND BLAST YOUR WAY THROUGH WAVE UPON WAVE OF ORGANIC MUTANTS IN THIS SUPERB CONVERTION OF TECMO'S BRILLIANT ARCADE GAME GEMINI WING"

A fairly short shoot em up that received a conversion to all the main 8 and 16-bit home computers of the time. The Amiga version is pretty much as you would expect for a 1989 amiga game not really pushing any boundaries but gets the job done and doesnt feel like a rush job. The game looks deceptively simple with its cartoony creature gfx but once you get into level two, the bullets start flying and there's plenty of obstacles in your way. It's not bullet hell but its all to easy to fly into a slow moving bullet as you dodge or aim for fast moving enemies.

You start off pretty slow but you can collect speed ups amongst many other special weapons. These can be collected and stored until needed but can only be fired off in the order collected which can be a blessing and a curse. You can only fire forward with no specials for side ways or diagonal fire. The bosses are pretty simple until the last level which i spent to long on. You need to hit the tail a few times in order to defeat but lining up a shot is near impossible and you have to hope you shot hits as it moves diagonally. Only the line blast special has any effect on it and this is a rare drop.

Up to this point the Amiga game has been mostly fine with nice gfx and music throughout with maybe the odd bit of questionable collision detection. Now I take the long route to defeating the final boss but it can be done so much quicker by throwing away a couple of lives and shooting the hell out of it with the tempary invincibility. Is this the actual intended way to defeat this enemy ?? You only need to sacrifice two lives and if you have continues left, well it's a sure thing you goanna beat it.
