Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland (Unlicensed)

Player's Review
'Everyone's favorite babies are back in action! When Tommy, Chuckie, Phil and Lil see a commercial for the new Reptar video game, they pretend that they're in a video game of their own. Through the power of imagination, the babies transform Tommy's house into a video game world full of action, excitement, and adventure. Select your favorite baby and play this neo-retro platformer! Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland can be played solo, or team up with a friend for some two-player co-op fun!'
Aftermarket game for the NES released in April 2024 and distributed by Limited Run Games. Months later, ports for current generation platforms came out, including an option to play with completely revamped graphics. The mission is to go through six stages, each one containing four Reptar coins (the final one is given after defeating the boss) and three cookies, picking four of them with the same character upgrades their health point permanently. Before starting the game, you're given three difficulty choices; the hardest one, which was selected here, doesn't allow you to switch characters through pause function, while the easiest setting allows infinite respawns.
In this longplay I pick up all Reptar coins (needed to access the final stage) as well as spotting and picking up all three cookies in each stage. On hardest setting, at least one of the characters ends up with three cookies as the game doesn't distribute them through the others when the active character has the health upgrade already, add to it the aforementioned limitation of just one character (or two in co-op mode) at a time.
