"Get behind the wheel and crush the competition! Six thunderous Monster Trucks pulverize everything in their path on the toughest circuits in America! Driving turboforce, explosive nitro bursts and 1500 horsepower fire up your mean monster machine!!"

Monster Truck Racing that looks promising but soon falls a bit flat. The longplay is played on Hard mode to show all 20 tracks. Easy would be 10 and medium 15 (didn't care to check if you still get the same ending). The difficulty also effects qualifying times that can be annoyingly tight. You get three attempts and should you fail, you lose that race and move on to the next when using one of five continues. At the start of each qualifying lap you can choose to check and repair car damage or upgrade parts as money allows. Thankfully the opposition doesnt seem to upgrade and overpower you much.

The racing kind of feels like 'Super Off Road Racing' as you get bashed around and damaged by other vehicles. Taking jump too fast cause you to go flying forward into a wall so you must aim to not take them straight on. You get to jump over cars but should you land on them you crush them all whilst getting knocked about in any direction. There are items to collect including nitro boosts, repairs, money and importantly the big Monster icons sending you off at turbo speed and invulnerable to the slow down effects of mud, water, rocks and cars.

Overall, an ok racing game but tight time limits and an opposition that will bash you well out of the way given the opportunity soon starts to kill any enjoyment you may have at the start. The controls can feel overresponsive especially with tire upgrades causing you to oversteer into walls as you take corners at speed. What lets it down for me is that all twenty tracks look pretty much the same. A little theming or palette changes would have gone a long way to making it feel less repetitive. The sounds are a bit basic and it can sound like a supermarket checkout as you pass through all the flags. Oh and another issue with the game is the framerate which can start to really tank when all cars are on screen taking damage although sometimes you can use this to your advantage around tight corners.
