Player's Review
Take part in the most prestigious rally of all time. Choose your type of vehicle and prepare for the race of you life!!!
Rally game based on the African stretch of the12th edition of the Paris to Dakar endurance rally starting in Libya. A sequel of sorts to Coktels previous game African raiders.
At the start of the game you can choose between three performance class of vehicle. The first being easy to control but slow and the third being delicate to control and easily damaged whilst being fast. The second being a balance of the two. The aim is to get through each of the stages in the quickest time whilst competing with other drivers. How yo get to the end of the stage is up to you. Ideally you stay on the track outlines by the rocks or go offroad and find your own route! Control can be quite challenging as going too fast can result in sliding off the track and hitting any obstacles can seriously damage your car. If you run out of time and require repair, a time penalty will be awarded. At the end of the game you will be awarded a code which was intended to be used as part of a competition to win a Peugeot 205.
Overall, this is a bad as a rally game gets. It can be difficult to stay on the track and sliding off can result in spinning the vehicle and you'll need to get your bearings and find the track. With all the jumps and tight turns it's all too easy to get lost. As long as you know where the finish line is though, marked on the map, the compass is handy for pointing you in the direction you need to be.
