World of Longplays is a Video Game Museum!

A longplay is a play-through of a computer or video game, created with the intent of completing it as fully as possible, mainly for the purposes of nostalgia, preservation, and possibly as a walkthrough.
The videos are like movies, they have no commentary and are recorded in their original framerate & resolution!
Most longplays are created using emulators that feature Re-Recording and Savestates!
Longplays do NOT represent any real gameplay or skills!
By posting your request in the proper forum subsection. Keep in mind that longplayers are few and mainly record games they like, so be patient, your game will get done eventually!
Please refer to the Support section on our forums. The IRC and Discord chats are also good starting points to get some help from the admins of this site. We have some strict requirements, so make sure your longplay adheres to the rules before you record and submit it!
We post 2 longplays per day, all the other videos will be on YT eventually - check the schedule :)

Also that some longplays contain either copyrighted stuff that is impossible to be edited out or adult content, which renders them unpublishable on YouTube.
Feel free to use any footage you want, as long as you credit the website, the channel and the longplayer(s) who created the footage in the video and video description :) We recommend downloading the videos on our site for the best quality! When your video is finished send us a link! What you CANT do is just reupload our videos!

What you can do with our videos if you follow our crediting rules:
-Use parts of the videos for reviews, compilations, music videos, documentaries etc.
-You may even reuse a full video as long as you provide enough transformative content, like for example a commentary track.
-If you think you cant follow the crediting rules exactly due to the nature of your production, please contact us and we can work something out.

What you cant do with our videos, even if you do follow the crediting rules:
- Reupload our videos as is to any video streaming sites like YouTube & Co
- Stream our content as is on live streaming sites like Twitch & Co

If you decide to break any of the rules mentioned above, dont be surprised if your channel gets shut down by us!
If you have any questions that aren't answered at this page, first search the forums for answers. If you still can't find the answers, post your question in the forum, or visit our IRC channel. We're always happy to help.
You can NOT use our footage for AI training, unless we allow it!
You can use our content as long as you are doing a reaction to the content and it is edited in a way that cites fair use
You can use our footage for a review of the game.
You can use our footage in compilation videos as long as the footage is edited whenever our footage is shown and gameplay from each game is no longer than a minute between edits.
All footage that is from us must be credited with the Longplayer and Longplays.org
You can stream our content if it is in line with fair use context, you may not livestream entire longplays completely unedited
If you are unclear as to what we mean by fair use we mean the video or livestream has to be transformative, as in the video/stream has to change the original video to where it's its own distinct video
Here is an example of a video that would be considered fair use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3MCrvirzDQ
A longplay is NOT a demonstration of skill, as we use emulators like Bizhawk that support Re-Recording and Savestates to achieve the optimal viewing experience!

No, Cheats arent allowed in longplays!
The only exception is made when a game is programmed so badly that cheats are the only way to finish it.
If this is the case, it is mentioned in the description for the longplay.
Cheats may be used to unlock specific unlocks, i.e. extra game modes, endings, etc.
