Player's Review
"It’s Christmas time in the Soultron star system, its people living in hope for a never ending peaceful existence of joy and good will. Yet some had looked out into the skies, wondering what lay beyond, and what dangers could descend upon their peaceful worlds. In secret they developed project Snow Force, an advanced space fighter designed to defend the Soultron system from anyone trying to ruin Christmas. And from the darkness of deep space comes a terrible bio-mechanical fleet swarming into the Soultron star system, monstrous creations descending upon the peaceful planets, stealing all their Christmas presents. They are known as the Grinchkins, a most miserable bunch of misers... We have chosen you to launch and pilot the new Snow Force space fighter against this terrifying threat and liberate our star system. Learn the Grinchkin’s plans and put a stop to them for good. The fate of our star system lies in our hands. You are our last and only hope... Oh, and don’t forget to rescue our presents too!"
Soul Force is back with a Christmas theme featuring all new gfx spread over eighteen levels. It is mostly the same as Soul force but no longer has pre level images, maybe these were exclusive and additional by Protovision and cant be included with this self published version. The pre level mission statements are still here though and also reflect the Christmassy theme. Some levels also contain presents which you can collect for extra bonus points although note that there are easy to accidently destroy as you blast enemies away.
Snow force also includes Soul Force X, an updated version of Soul Force again with the pre level images removed and updated with the ability to select your weapon at any time and contains all 20 levels. I'm not sure if there are any other changes apart from no title screen and it transitions to the high score table.
The longplay is a complete run through of Snow force at manic difficulty followed by a play of soul force-x at normal difficulty. It's does start of easy but soon gets pretty similar to manic levels later on.
Overall, it's pretty much the same game as before although you get two games for the price of one now although it is just a reskin and comes down to which gfx and music you want to play through with.
