Why do people download torrents?

It can be faster if there are enough seeds and peers. Oh and it can be easily resumed, unlike HTTP.

Good question! If anyone would use torrents download should go quick. But unfortunately no one like torrents it seems :-(

I'm not a fan of streaming on youtube, getright doesn't support some of the longplays. And every time I've tried to DL the Final Fantasy 8 longplay it's cut off around 120mb. Torrents are probably a necessity for the larger playthroughs but anything thats like under 200mb should be okay with browser download.

If people should use torrents I would create a torrent for all large files.

I heard that next week The Pirate Bay will change owner. So there is no point to upload any new torrents because I don't know what will happen with all the torrents.

Maybe we could have our own tracker in future. But at the moment it's no point. The site is still too small.

given the choice between one or the other i would chose direct download. but having both options for downloads and torrents wouldn't be bad either.

torrents for the files that are hosted on that weird "gateway time out" host would be a nice thing.

I have been trying to download Sam & Max Seasons 1 & 2 but to no avail... Maybe the files are too large ? I could download some smaller ones from that host, but not those two which weigh 1200 mb (wtf btw, is it HDTV lol)

The tracker is probably down...size doesn't really mean much for torrents. Unless your ISP is throttling you...LOL
