Recording on Linux

I'd like to record a longplay or two, but I'm running Linux. Anyone dealt with this before?

Looking at GBA emus, to narrow it down, Mednafen (link: http://mednafen.fobby.net/) records to QuickTime format. Is this good enough to work with?

I might also try hacking together VBA-M. I remember having... issues with this when I tried a few years ago.

Yeah we recommend you to install Windows if you want to record longplays.

No. Some games run at 60, so you wouldn't be capturing all the frames. Get Windows.
As if it wasn't bad enough already...

Hm... What about using an external screencapture program to grab it at 50 FPS in AVI format?

We recommend Bizhawk for recording - unfortunately that one is Windows only :<

QuickTime is completely unacceptable as its a terrible format. Your best bet might be to install windows and use dualboot.
