Longplays on a tight schedule?

So I'm trying to get into doing longplays, but my schedule is kind of tight. I know a lot of longplays are done over multiple hour sessions but I just don't have that kind of time. I was thinking maybe I could record for an hour or so then edit it all together for the finished product. Is this frowned upon?
