Player's Review

"Lee is having a restless night, sure he's fast asleep, but that won't stop him taking one of his nocturnal journeys! Fortunately, our sleepwalker has a courageous canine companion who will try his utmost to protect his master from coming to any harm. Lee's faithful mutt, Ralph. Lee's four legged friend is zapped, bashed, clobbered, pummelled, singed and squashed, but nothing will stop him from performing his dedicated duty, (although the odd fire hydrant may distract him) it's all par for the course of a night errand. These midnight meanderings take him to the most hazardous of places... the creepy graveyard, the gooky zoo, precarious construction sites and the traffic strewn city streets, but Lee's loyal rover steadfastly guards his master from all impending dangers with painful consequences! Featuring sound effects and speech created by LENNY HENRY, and superb cartoon style animation. SLEEPWALKER represents a unique relationship between Ocean Software and Comic Relief. Join in the fun with your own fund raising event using the official sponsorship form inside. A contribution from the sale of this game will go to Comic Relief to help fund projects in Africa and the U.K. Every penny raised by Comic Relief in public donations and through the sale of merchandise is allocated to a specific charity project."

The Amiga game exists in two version for both the Amiga 500 class machines and 1200 AGA. The Game also has two releases. A standard edition and a Comic Relief edition. The Comic version was first and maybe UK only to tie in with the March 1993 Comic Relief event and Ocean would donate £4.32 for each promotional copy sold. The first Commodore Amiga 1200 game bundle also tied in with the event and £10 would be donated for every machine sold with 25,000 packs made available. The standard version of the game without the red nose tomatoes was released for EU regions and again in 1994 as a budget re-release as well as launching the CD32 game and the letters spell out BONUS instead of COMIC. The game later released on Super Nintendo in 1994 known as Eek-the-Cat completely rebranding the game with smaller levels as well new areas.

Notable differences between the Comic and standard versions of the game include:-
- Lenny Henry, who is heavily connected with the charity, was cast as Ralph's voice in the game's animated introductions.
- The Ocean Software logo was animated to include a red tomato being thrown at it (tomatoes were the theme of that year's Comic Relief event) with the charity logo stamped on top of the resulting mess. The phrase "Comic Relief or som'ing", voiced by comedian Harry Enfield, was then heard.
- The opening title of the game features Lee and Ralph moving from left to right and then right to left inside the letters of the word "Sleepwalker". Each time they move from right to left, they are seen wearing red noses (which turn green when a cheat is activated).
- Letters can be collected that spelled out the word "COMIC" at the top of the screen. An extra life is awarded for successfully collecting all five letters.

One of those frustrating games from my childhood that I cannot get out of my head. I was going to upload my original longplay to this account but thought It needed redoing to up it to 50fps and to hopefully play better.

Here I collect all the COMIC letters and obtain all the comedy scenes from the bonus levels. Some of which I've probably never gotten before because the time limit makes it incredibly difficult to obtain them all.

Part 2 video is the Sleepwalker Special Competition Edition, a competition game released at some point. There isn't really much information about it online. It consist of only one short level where the goal is to collect as much points as you can, by collecting the bones or the (I think) smiley faces. I also tried to collect all the "COMIC" letters, but apparently the letters I and C are missing!
