Turbo Outrun (US Gold)

"Turbo Out Run takes you on a 16 stage race across America. Along the way you will battle bumper to bumper with good guys and bad guys, police cars, Porsches and blown engines. Numerous scenes will take you through congested city streets, over snow and icy mountain passes and across sun baked deserts, Drive daytime and night time-go for manual or auto gearbox selection, even customise your Ferrari F40 with High Grip Tyres, but whatever else you do use the Turbo booster power sparingly THIS BABY'S HOT AND RARING TO GO TURBO OUT RUN "NO OTHER CAR RACING GAME COMES CLOSE"

Like Outrun, Turb Outrun was released in two versions, on for the US released by Sega on one disk and one for pal released by US Gold on two discs. A hybrid one disk release is being played here cracked by Supreme. There's not much t say on this one other than .. it's bad. The genesis release is probably the best home conversion although my go to is the C64 game.

The longplay goes through all tracks as they appear. The timer is really strict no room for error which means no collisions or driving on gravel although it gets more forgiving later as yu buy the upgrades. You get four continues which restarts the track you are on if needed. There is a lot of disk loading between levels which i have left in to show just how bad the game was for A500 owners of the time.
