Player's Review
"Strange mutant creatures have appeared across the surface of planet Earth! Earth needs a hero to stop them... one like you! So strap into your fighter and blast off to end this infestation for good!"
Zeta Wing is a vertical shoot em up in the style of Gemini Wing. It has seven levels completer with there own level music and boss battles. The idea is to destroy each enemy wave and collect a Power Up (P). Collecting (W) and (Z) will add score bonuses. Collecting twelve (P) symbols will upgrade your weapon. You are awarded an extra life every 50,000 points. If you are shot down you will lose a weapon level. We even have Music + sfx playing at the same time which is a rare thing.
Overall, it is a good C64 game that doesnt stray from the usual C64 shoot em up formula too much. It doesnt really do anything new but refines what has come before to become a perfectly executed smooth running C64 shoot em up and a taste of what's next. Enemy projectiles are big and flashy making them easy to see but they can be fast and hard to avoid.
