Player's Review
Ice Climber is a 1985 platformer video game developed and published by Nintendo. It was released for both the arcade VS. System and NES. In some European countries, Ice Climber was bundled with the Nintendo Entertainment System. The arcade release, titled VS. Ice Climber, features exclusive content absent from the traditional NES release, including an animated title screen, a stage select menu at the start of the game and between levels, 16 more mountains, occasional wind effects, more enemies and vegetables, and bonus multiplier items. The 1988 Famicom Disk System release is a port of the arcade version of the game.
Somewhere around halfway through playing this game, the sprites become corrupted, which lightly affects some character animations and, more importantly, replaces the sprites of items on bonus stages with glitchy graphics. I had this issue on two different versions of the ROM, and also saw this exact same issue in several different video playthroughs made by different people, so I'm assuming that the game was released with this bug.
In this longplay, I play through all mountains while trying to find all hidden multiplier bonuses. Although I tried off-record, I was not able to find the multipliers on stages 38 and 39. Since this game is endless, I lost on purpose after beating all stages. Extra scenes were edited in at the end.
