Follow a jumping plumber as he puts on a show to stop a big ol' lizard who kidnapped a fruity princess or something.

Gameplay takes some things from SMB1 and SMB2 (the ACTUAL SMB2 aka Lost Levels) and refined it more! You have the classic power-ups like Shrooms and Fire Flower while having a whole lot of really fun power-ups, like the Leef and a buncha suits! There's also the best thing: flying! Differences compared to the US version: stage transition is a little different, stage layouts are a little different here and there, and the major one: how damage is handled! It is based on the first two SMB games: you ALWAYS revert to smol Mario when you get hit. Even getting hit in the Kurigoomba Shoe will force you into small Mario. This game is pretty relentless.

This longplay casually plays through the game with no savestates while trying to do speedrun strats (I'm a speedrunner btw :3) but gets bopped by the game because I'm NOT a speedrunner :3. I show many hidden things that I can remember. ALL stages are cleared. I don't take secret exits for Warp Whistles in World 1. I TRIED to show the music box chest in 5-1, but the game robbed me of my power-up. I also make an attempt at spawning the White Mushroom Houses and Treasure Ships. I failed to spawn the ship in World 1. 7-2 is skipped at first because you need Frog Suit to spawn the White Mushroom House. Thankfully there's a Mushroom House that does have it. I do a cute 1-up trick in 3-4 to get to max lives but, in my opinion, lives are a non-issue if you know how the Course Cards work. (as evident by the 23 lives going into World 2). All you have to do is either walk into the end or run in at max p-meter. You almost always get a Star card. This explains why I don't end a stage immediately because I'm a sucker for trying to get Star cards even at max lives!
