"Super Racing - The F1 Grand Prix has begun with a hot breeze! A super battle unfolds across 15 countries around the world. You, driving the latest machine, aim for the championship!!"

Top down arcade formula one racing much like a supped up Monoco GP release by Sega into the arcades in 1979. The first option you need to decide is between Real mode or BGM mode which is essentially engine sound or background music. There are three difficulty levels each with a different set of races. Beginner has five races or three laps. Average has eight races of ten laps and Expert consists of fifteen races of twenty laps. It's a long game and you need to finish expert to see all tracks. You start out by choosing a Constructor Team loosely based on real world names, this isn't a licenced F1 game after all. Differences amongst the teams are slightly different car stats that effect speed and handling. Before each race you get to choose between a High Seed car or a more technical setup. The main difference been a technical handles a bit better with faster acceleration to get round corners easier at the expense of overall top speed.

Each race has a practice lap before going into a qualifying lap. Your finishing time determines where you will start on the grid in the main race. Once the lights go green it's time to go, accelerating through a course that flicks between left and right as the game vertically scrolls to eventually loop the track. Each lap might only be twelve seconds but it all adds up. You get two gears, low and high to help you govern your upper speed when tacking corners. If you take a corner too quickly theres a chance you will slide off the track and if you take it way to fast you will likely crash and destroy the car with an instant disqualification and onto the next race. Pits is available if you need to refuel (only likely in expert championship) or repair car damage that effects car handling. You will be called in if needed. Finish all tracks in a good position to achieve the top overall score and win the game.

Overall, it's a nicely presented racing game for the time with some nice music tracks to keep it interesting. The qualifying time for pole position is pretty tight and the opponents can be annoying to get past if you start behind them. In the Expert championship taking a technical car can put you at a notable disadvantage against the opponent hi speed cars especially as they never need to enter pits and you surly will need to at least once and it's not easy to build up a good lead in the tech car.

The longplay first shows the Beginner and Average championships using standard PSG audio. Real mode for Beginner and BSG for Average. Expert Championship is played with BGM Fm Music but before that I show a few seconds of Real mode FM engine sound in practice mode. There is no kind of credit roll upon completion which is kind of underwhelming after the effort put in. An interesting observation at pitstops is that the pit crew are seen working on what needs repairing. You don't see that level of immersion in many racers of the era or even now.
